A fascinating 19th-century water-powered forge, which produced agricultural and mining hand tools. Still in working order with regular demonstrations throughout the day, the foundry has three waterwheels driving the huge tilt hammer and grindstone.

This famous gorge is 1½ml long and can be viewed from a circular walk, which starts high above the river and passes through attractive oak-woods before dropping down to the spectacular 30m-high White Lady waterfall.
